The Crew of the Barque Lone Star is a proud scion society of the Baker Street Irregulars. It was originally founded in 1970, and has had several incarnations over the decades, even losing its scion status for a time before regaining it in 1996, thanks to Tom Stix.
Keeping with the tradition of being irregular, the Barque has gone into radio silence a couple of times, only to resurface again to focus on the study of Sherlock Holmes, his world, and the world of those who also love him, his faithful chronicler, and Victorian England.
The crew members of the Barque Lone Star are committed to spreading the words of Conan Doyle, John Watson and Sherlock Holmes to the Dallas / Fort Worth area and to the larger Sherlockian world both in the United States and around the world.
We offer good company and rousing Sherlockian conversation to anyone who might be interested, and are also resolved to dig deep into the fifty-six short stories and four novels that comprise the Canon. In addition, we volunteer in the community, lecture to libraries and school groups, attend conferences around the country, and participate in the Baker Street Irregulars Weekend in January in New York City. And do whatever else we can think of, as long as Sherlock Holmes is our guiding force.
